How cost is calculated

The EvaFarm billing model — per-minute billing, node preparation, and remaining time.

This section explains exactly how rental cost is charged, so the numbers on your invoice are predictable.

Per-minute billing

The basic model is payment for the node’s actual running time. After the session starts, cost accrues per minute at the node’s rate. The current charge is shown on the active session card and updates in real time.

When billing starts and rounding

A new rental always belongs to a project. Billing starts after the node’s preparation succeeds. Preparation time is not billed.

The first minute is charged on activation. After that, actual minutes are counted, and a partial minute is rounded up. The amount is calculated at the rate saved for the whole session and rounded to kopecks or cents. A change in the node’s price does not change the rate of a rental that has already started.

Member limit

A limit of zero means no limit. A positive limit applies to all of a member’s rentals in the project combined. When the limit is reached, the session stops. If a delay in the background check lets the time run over, the amount above the limit is not charged; the adjustment is shown on the invoice.

Remaining time and warnings

The system constantly estimates how many minutes your balance will last at the current load. When little time is left, you get warnings in Telegram (~30 / 15 / 5 minutes before the stop). This lets you top up in advance.

What if you run out of money

If the balance runs out during a session, the session stops automatically, an invoice is issued for the time used, and the node goes into maintenance. To start new sessions, top up your wallet.

Currencies

Balances are kept separately in rubles and dollars; the rate depends on the session currency. A project’s currency is fixed when the project is created. Learn more about wallets in Wallets.
